Create a gorgeous blend of botanicals to conjure the sun's power for spells, solar magic, charging magical items, and energy work. You can use this blend for altar decor, in spell bags, and charms, or as a magical potpourri. I like to make this blend around Beltane or Litha for extra potency. I mostly use yellow and orange botanicals and like to incorporate plants that are traditionally associated with the sun or that bloom in the spring and summer. For more fiery magic, you can also add hibiscus or other reddish flowers.
ITEMS NEEDED
A mix of dried herbs and flowers that are associated with solar magic or that bloom in the spring and summer. For my blend, I used orange, grapefruit, and lemon peels with cloves, hops, jasmine, chrysanthemum, chamomile, and juniper berries.
airtight container
citrus essential oils (I use sweet orange and lemon, but you can use whichever oils you prefer)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine the botanicals with the essential oils.
2. Place in an airtight container and leave for a couple of weeks.
3. To use, recite the incantation.
"Sunstar magic, fierce and bright
I call upon your radiant light
Bless this blend with summer's power
and the magic of this golden hour."
*Note: change the word "spell" to whichever word is most appropriate for the task at hand. For example, to charge a magical item replace the word "spell" with the name of the item.
