Mardi Gras means "Fat Tuesday", and it is a celebratory season of excess that occurs before the fasting of Lent. Traditional Mardi Gras colors are purple, green, and gold. These colors have come to be associated with certain traits: gold for power, purple for justice, and green for faith. Use the powerful energy of Mardi Gras to make your own mojo bags for power, justice, and faith.
ITEMS NEEDED
felt or other pieces of square cloth (1 per bag)
Power Mojo Bag:
gold ribbon, pyrite, basil, mint, paper with your intention written on it, frankincense essential oil
Justice Mojo Bag:
purple ribbon, blue calcite, mustard seed, star anise, paper with your intention written on it, lavender essential oil
Faith Mojo Bag:
green ribbon, amethyst, angelica root, sage, paper with your intention written on it, eucalyptus essential oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Place the items for each bag in the center of the square cloth.
optional: add something extra that corresponds with the intention of your bag and is personal to you
2. Pull the sides of the bag up and cinch tightly with the ribbon.
3. Feed your mojo bag: Place some of the corresponding essential oil on your fingers and dab it on the mojo bag in five spots (in the pattern of a pentagram).
4. Wear the bag or keep it close by for seven days. Make sure the bag stays in your possession only. After the first seven days, feed your mojo bag about once a month by adding more essential oil to it.
